ClackCoChella Celebrates ClackCoKids Staff

By Amanda Caraway, Community Engagement Manager |

Every year, ClackCoKids hosts an agency-wide staff event to celebrate our incredible employees and the work they do to enrich the lives of the kids and families in our programs. This year, our executive director, Darcee Kilsdonk had a vision that became ClackCoChella, inspired by the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

The day-long event featured games, prizes, karaoke, food trucks, and a talent show. The goal was to support staff wellness and show appreciation for their commitment to serving our families. We know that events like these promote quality of life, reduce stress, and help prevent illness and injury due to burnout. Events can help us promote a community we love to be a part of.

We loved seeing the many talents of the ClackCoKids staff during the talent show. It was also wonderful to experience the engagement and intermingling of employees in different departments of the agency.

Some employees also came up with unique activities for the event. These included a beautifully decorated photo booth, a plant swap, and some fun mystery boxes where people put their hands inside and tried to guess what they were touching. You see more pictures from the photo booth here.

This event embraced diversity and inclusion in the collaboration of employees from diverse backgrounds. ClackCoChella encouraged staff to meet new employees, learn about other’s talents, and create a strong sense of belonging that is so valuable in the workplace.

We hope this event becomes something we all look forward to each year.
