Awarded Healthy Families America Grant to Better Serve the Community

By Tiffany Morgan, Home-Based Services Manager |

For more than 16 years, ClackCoKids has been a proud participant in the Healthy Families America program, a multi-purpose organization that delivers high-quality family and early learning services to the most vulnerable residents of Clackamas County. We believe our Home Visiting program, is a key resource for helping to prevent child abuse and neglect in our community.

This year we had the opportunity to apply directly for the grant and we are honored to announce we were selected. As a result of receiving our own Healthy Families Grant, we have more funds to serve even more families in Clackamas County.

Our Healthy Families Program employs eight home visitors and two supervisors, which enables us to visit between 110 and 120 families on a weekly or biweekly basis. The focus of this program is to support parents, promote bonding, and encourage effective parenting skills. Like all ClackCoKids programming, Healthy Families supports the growth of healthy children and families, positive parenting, and school readiness, in addition to helping families transfer from Healthy Families to Head Start services when applicable.
