ClackCoKids: Read Together is our agency-wide early literacy initiative designed to help children build strong foundations for learning through books, conversation, play, and everyday moments with the adults who care for them. Through culturally and linguistically responsive books, family activities, expanded home libraries, and practical literacy resources, we are creating more opportunities for families to make reading and learning part of daily life. While many activities will begin with families currently participating in ClackCoKids programs, this initiative is also about strengthening early literacy across our broader community. Here, families and community members can follow our progress, explore featured books and activities, discover simple ways to support young children’s literacy development, and join us in helping more children build a lifelong love of reading and learning.

ClackCoKids is currently receiving Birth Through Five (BT5) Literacy funding from the Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care to support specific early literacy activities, including expanding children’s home libraries, providing culturally and linguistically responsive books, and sharing family-friendly literacy activities.
