The ClackCoChella All-Staff Event provided the perfect opportunity for us to recognize members of our staff who inspire their fellow employees. All staff members were given the opportunity to nominate coworkers whom they see as a Shining Star.

After the nominations were in, 102 employees were recognized as Shining Stars at ClackCoChella. See the full photo album of the recipients here.

From this impressive list of nominees, the Executive Committee chose a final winner who was announced at our Fall All-Staff Event. Robyn Alper, an Early Childhood Nurse, was selected for going above and beyond​, looking for opportunities to improve systems and the agency​, and being relationship-focused​, empathetic,​and respected​.

ClackCoKids Shining Star is a program designed to recognize employees who demonstrate our Core Competencies, which are:

We are confident in our work, show up with a positive attitude, and hold ourselves accountable to meet the mission of the Agency. We have a growth mindset, are open to change, and always strive to learn and grow. When communicating, problem-solving, or otherwise interacting with others, we always demonstrate respect and commit to engaging in direct conversations in order to maintain relationships and find resolutions.

Compassionate

We work to fulfill our mission with open ears to listen deeply and try to understand. We are open-minded to the motivations of others and try to understand their perspective. We have an open-heart and empathize with and empower those we serve. We approach our work believing all parties have the best intentions. We practice self-care and self-compassion, so we are ready to serve others.

Trustworthy

We show up with honesty and transparency and engage in courageous conversations when conflicts occur. We are accountable and do what we say we will do to ensure we meet or exceed program standards. We care for each other and the children and families we serve. We prioritize safety and commit to maintaining confidentiality in our interactions and services.

Dedicated

We are available, present, and flexible in our work. We prioritize the delivery of exceptional services in our planning and decision-making and commit to meeting deadlines and completing high-quality work daily. We work well with and support our team. We are focused on the mission and work and continually learn and grow through engaging with the ideas of others while striving to learn new skills.

We create an equitable, inviting, and welcoming environment, while demonstrating kindness, empathy, and respect for all. We continually work to build awareness of our bias to ensure we are inclusive of one another and the community we serve. We seek to explore a variety of perspectives and embrace diversity in decision-making and storytelling.
