PNC Bank Celebrates ClackCoKids through ‘Great Month’ Initiative

By Natalie Hornstein, Community Engagement Manager |

Every April, PNC Bank employees across the nation come together to celebrate their Great Month initiative. This initiative celebrates excellence in the field of early childhood education, and raises awareness of the partnerships and supports that PNC Bank provides to local programs like ClackCoKids.

Throughout the month, there are many activities that PNC employees can participate in to benefit their local early-education partner organizations, including supply drives, assembling “CAN DO Cans” (fun school readiness activity kits), giving teacher appreciation gifts, and reading in classrooms.

PNC staff came into our centers as volunteers to read to children in our Head Start programs during the weeks of April 17th and 24th. Additionally, PNC will also be gifting our centers with 10 Teacher appreciation boxes, which include $250 Lakeshore Learning gift cards and Teacher wellness kits full of self-care materials like wellness journals and art supplies during the first week of May for Teacher Appreciation Week.

For the past two years, PNC Bank has been a key sponsor funding our very popular Cooking Matters class series for ClackCoKids families, which aims to educate families on recipes they can make at home with their children, nutrition education, and healthy eating on a budget. PNC has also partnered with ClackCoKids to bring reading volunteers into our classrooms both virtually and in-person.

Thank you, PNC Bank, for your continued partnership and support of the staff, children, and families in our programs!
