Our Prenatal Services Help Build Healthy Families

By Tiffany Morgan, Home-Based Services Manager |

We want every child to have a nurturing, caring, and safe environment with strong bonds and relationships. And we want their families to thrive and feel empowered. That’s why we prefer to begin partnering with families as early in the child’s life as possible, including before the child is born.

Some people might not be aware that you don’t have to wait until your child is born to apply for our services. In fact, we love it when families start with our prenatal services to give parents a head start before their babies come into the world.

We think every family can benefit from working with ClackCoKids, regardless of their background and economic situation. Pregnancy and early child parenting can feel overwhelming and even isolating depending on circumstances. All parents need support, and that is what our Home-Based Service Providers are there to give.

Best of all, we will come to you at a place and time and in a way that is most convenient and feels comfortable. We help parents create a community to support them as they prepare to welcome their child and help them understand what to do when they go into labor. Many parents feel anxiety and worry while waiting for their baby to arrive, and our staff can help them feel more secure.

We understand some people feel uncomfortable with having a stranger enter their home. That’s why we will work with you to create a program that is designed specifically for your family and centers around your comfort level. It can also be helpful to have a resourceful person outside the family to provide perspective and information.

Meet Andrea

There’s no need to take our word for it when you can hear from parents currently enrolled in our prenatal program. Andrea and her husband just began receiving services in March as they prepare to welcome their first child.

Andrea says the ClackCoKids staff really listen and make her feel comfortable. Her family is receiving biweekly visits from a Home-Based worker who has taken the time to get to know her and her husband and understand their family dynamics.

Thanks to her case worker, Andrea feels more prepared. She knows what to expect as her child grows and what milestones to look for. Andrea and her husband know they will get as much out of the program as they are willing to put into it.

Andrea admits that she was hesitant at first and unsure what to expect, but the staff makes her feel comfortable. She has complete control over who she sees and when. Andrea has found the staff to be respectful and understanding. She feels the Home-Based staff is there to provide support and not pass judgment.
