Our premiere Chairs for Children event in the fall of 2023 was such a success that we’ve decided to make it an annual tradition. You won’t want to miss our second annual Chairs for Children on October 5th at the Marylhurst Campus. This community event allows organizations, partners, and businesses in Clackamas County to support our work and take part in our important mission to serve children and families.

Just as with the inaugural event, our live auction will showcase the work of local artists displayed on retired wooden chairs from the early days of our program. But this year, we are taking it up a notch with designs inspired by the famous paintings of master artists throughout history. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on masterworks inspired by Vincent Van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, and others.  

This year, we found a way to also incorporate the talents of our teachers and the kids in our program. Last spring, the teachers taught their students about master artists from history, and the kids created their own artwork inspired by their paintings. The works were put on display and shared with families during our Night at the Museum event. At Chairs for Children, attendees will have the opportunity to see some of their creative endeavors and bid on the works as well.  

In addition to the live auction, there will be a silent auction filled with baskets also inspired by artists such as Claude Monet, Frida Kahlo, Andy Warhol, and Van Gogh. Each basket will be artfully crafted with tantalizing items donated by local businesses.

Attendees will also get to satisfy their sweet tooth by bidding on delicious creations by local bakeries during the Dessert Dash. And no event would be complete without a Wine Wall filled with delectable vintages donated by local wineries.
