CCCC Estacada Center Gets Upgraded Play Yard!

By Natalie Hornstein; CCCC Community Connections Specialist |

One positive that came from our centers closing for in-person services during the COVID-19 pandemic was that we were able to complete several development projects at our centers, including building a brand-new outdoor play space at our Estacada center.

ClackCoKids hired GreenWorks and JTRA Architecture to design the new space. T Edge Construction and Paul Brothers used this design to build a nature-inspired, accessible outdoor space to support movement, curiosity, and collaborative play for children of multiple ages and abilities!

Nancy Tysinger, Education Supervisor at the Estacada center is thrilled with the new addition to her site:

“The new playground is absolutely amazing! The children have watched the last couple months of construction with great anticipation and were so excited to finally get to play on it. They are climbing on the stone stepping stones and balancing on the log climbers. The slide and grass hill have given the children opportunities to work together to help each other up and down the hill, and of course the bike path is amazing as it winds around all the natural grasses, the water feature, and water pump!”

A huge thank you to GreenWorks, JTRA Architecture, T Edge, and Paul Brothers for design and construction of this exciting new play space that will be enjoyed for many years to come!
